Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
- Stir in the flour until a sticky dough forms.
- Heat oil in a frying pan to 375°F.
- Pipe 4-inch lengths of dough into the hot oil and cut with scissors.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with cinnamon and roll churros in the mixture.
- Heat chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan until smooth for dipping sauce.
- Serve churros warm with chocolate dipping sauce.
Notes
Churros are best enjoyed fresh. You can refrigerate the dough beforehand. For a healthier option, use an air fryer.
