Description

A decadent dessert that combines the flavors of hot chocolate with creamy layers, crunchy Oreo crust, and fluffy marshmallows.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter – Melted
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter – Softened
  • 8 oz. cream cheese – Softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 (0.73 oz) envelopes of instant hot cocoa mix
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 (3.8 oz) chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream – For the whipped topping
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar – For the whipped topping
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows – For topping
  • Chocolate topping or Nutella – For drizzling before serving

Instructions

  1. Create the crust: Blend the Oreo cookies until fine crumbs. Combine with melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch casserole dish and chill.
  2. Make the mousse layer: Beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth, then mix in vanilla and powdered sugar. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream and hot cocoa mix until stiff peaks form and fold into the cream cheese mixture. Spread over the chilled crust and return to chill.
  3. Prepare the pudding layer: Whisk chocolate pudding mix with milk until thickened, then fold in mini marshmallows. Spread over the mousse layer and let set for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Whipped cream topping: Beat heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form; spread over the pudding layer. Chill until ready to serve.
  5. Finish with toppings: Before serving, sprinkle with mini marshmallows and drizzle with chocolate or Nutella.

Notes
