Description

A classic Meatball Spaghetti recipe that combines tender meatballs with al dente spaghetti in a rich marinara sauce, creating a comforting and flavorful dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Spaghetti
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh Basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later, then drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined. Form into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  3. Sear the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the meatballs in the skillet. Sear them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the Sauce: Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs. Cover and let them simmer for around 20 minutes.
  5. Combine with Pasta: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves and enjoy hot.

Notes

Make meatballs ahead and store them uncooked in the fridge or freeze them. Brown them in the skillet to enhance flavor.
