Description

A delightful blend of pizza and pasta, this Pizza Pasta Bake is a comforting dish perfect for family dinners or a solo indulgence.


Ingredients

  • 6 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the Italian sausage, green bell pepper, red onion, and garlic to the same skillet. Cook until the sausage is browned and the vegetables are tender.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, crispy bacon, sausage and vegetable mixture, and half of the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses in a large bowl. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then serve.

Notes
