Description

A stunning dessert that marries rich red velvet cake with a creamy cheesecake layer, perfect for celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake)
  • 2 large eggs (for cheesecake)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9-inch springform pan generously.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl using a whisk.
  3. Whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then pour half into the prepared springform pan.
  5. Beat the cream cheese until creamy, then add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs, mixing on low speed.
  6. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the red velvet batter, then dollop with the remaining red velvet batter.
  7. Swirl the layers together using a knife to create marbled effects.
  8. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely before removing the cake from the pan.

Notes

Let the cake rest in the fridge overnight for enhanced flavors. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
