Description

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  11. Once rolls are baked, let cool slightly and spread frosting on top.
