Description

A delightful appetizer or light dessert featuring roasted pears topped with creamy goat cheese and a warm maple walnut drizzle.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears (such as Bartlett or Bosc)
  • 1 cup creamy goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the pears in half and remove the cores, keeping the skins on.
  3. Arrange the pear halves cut side up on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Roast the pears for about 25 minutes, until tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Combine walnuts and maple syrup in a small saucepan and heat gently over low heat.
  6. Once the pears are roasted, place a dollop of goat cheese on each half.
  7. Drizzle the warm walnut mixture over the pears and serve warm.

Notes

Make-ahead: You can prepare and roast the pears a few hours in advance and warm them before serving.
