Description

Delightful shrimp burgers paired with creamy cilantro guacamole, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 450 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 15 g fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 40 g red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño, minced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 burger buns of choice
  • Lettuce leaves for serving
  • Sliced tomatoes for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in the food processor. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
  2. Mix the ingredients: Transfer shrimp to a bowl and fold in breadcrumbs, cilantro, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, egg, and lime juice.
  3. Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape into patties about 2.5 cm thick.
  4. Cook the patties: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Prepare the guacamole: Mash avocado and mix in red onion, jalapeño, salt, and lime juice until creamy.
  6. Assemble the burgers: Optionally toast the buns; place a shrimp patty on each bun base, top with guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes, and serve hot.

Notes

Shrimp mixture can be prepared in advance and chilled. Adjust seasonings to taste.
