Ingredients

- 450 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 60 g breadcrumbs
- 15 g fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 40 g red onion, finely chopped
- 1 small jalapeño, minced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 4 burger buns of choice
- Lettuce leaves for serving
- Sliced tomatoes for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in the food processor. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
- Mix the ingredients: Transfer shrimp to a bowl and fold in breadcrumbs, cilantro, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, egg, and lime juice.
- Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape into patties about 2.5 cm thick.
- Cook the patties: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until golden.
- Prepare the guacamole: Mash avocado and mix in red onion, jalapeño, salt, and lime juice until creamy.
- Assemble the burgers: Optionally toast the buns; place a shrimp patty on each bun base, top with guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes, and serve hot.
Notes
Shrimp mixture can be prepared in advance and chilled. Adjust seasonings to taste.
