Description
A vibrant dish featuring succulent shrimp in a rich, spicy sauce made with garlic, white wine, and crushed tomatoes, served over pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the white wine: Pour in the white wine, allowing it to simmer for about one minute.
- Incorporate the tomatoes: Stir in the crushed tomatoes along with red pepper flakes, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
- Cook the shrimp: Gently add the shrimp into the simmering sauce. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the shrimp is pink and opaque.
- Combine with pasta: Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, ensuring every strand is generously coated in the sauce.
- Serve and garnish: Plate your shrimp and pasta mixture, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
The sauce can be prepared a day in advance. Store in the fridge and add shrimp and pasta when ready to serve.
