Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring ziti pasta, marinara sauce, and a blend of cheeses, cooked slowly for maximum flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Italian sausage (if using) in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into chunks.
  2. Combine cooked ziti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella in a slow cooker.
  3. Stir in the sausage (if using) and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours until cheese is melted and dish is heated through.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. You can also customize it with different vegetables or sauces.
