- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound Italian sausage (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the Italian sausage (if using) in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into chunks.
- Combine cooked ziti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella in a slow cooker.
- Stir in the sausage (if using) and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours until cheese is melted and dish is heated through.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. You can also customize it with different vegetables or sauces.
