Description

Delicious steak tacos made with tender grilled steak, fresh cilantro, and zesty lime, all wrapped in warm corn tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb of steak (flank or sirloin)
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch of cilantro, chopped
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: Salsa, avocado, cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the steak: Generously sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steak.
  2. Cook the steak: Heat the cast iron skillet or grill over high heat, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  3. Let it rest: Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for a few minutes.
  4. Warm the tortillas: In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds each side.
  5. Assemble the tacos: Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain and lay it on each tortilla. Top with onion, cilantro, and any desired toppings.
  6. Squeeze lime juice over the tacos before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead: Marinate steak in advance for extra flavor. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
