- 1 ribeye steak with bone (about 24 ounces), at room temperature
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or canola oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
- Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Add olive oil to the grill or skillet.
- Place the steak on the hot surface and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- Add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
- Spoon the melted herb butter over the steak while it cooks.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allow the ribeye to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking for even cooking.
