Description

Experience the vibrant flavors of Thailand with this light and zesty steamed fish, infused with lime and garlic for a deliciously fresh meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets of white fish (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 2 limes, juiced and zested
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steamer: Fill your pot with enough water to steam but not so much that it touches the fish. Place the steamer basket inside and bring the water to a gentle simmer.
  2. Lay the Fish Fillets: Place the fish fillets flat in the steaming basket, taking care to leave enough space for steam to circulate.
  3. Make the Lime-Garlic Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, minced garlic, and fish sauce.
  4. Pour the Mixture: Drizzle the lime-garlic concoction over the fish fillets.
  5. Steam the Fish: Cover with a lid and steam for about 8-10 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  6. Serve: Remove the fish and serve with additional lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For a bolder flavor, marinate the fish briefly in the lime-garlic mixture before steaming.
