Description

Ingredients

  • Ripe Tomatoes
  • Bread (Sourdough or any crusty bread)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Fresh Basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the bread into thick pieces, about ½ inch.
  3. Brush each slice with olive oil generously.
  4. Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, then introduce halved tomatoes.
  6. If using garlic, sauté minced garlic in olive oil for about a minute before adding the tomatoes.
  7. Top each slice with the tomato confit.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
